Mrs. Cerasela stressed the words of the President of Ukraine during his visit to Bucharest, according to which Romania should be not only a Ukrainian neighbour, but also its true friend, so that small disputes do not harm a big potential of mutually beneficial cooperation. Both states have the common goal – European integration.Moreover, Mrs. Cerasela told about possibilities to receive grants in the framework of TACIS and PHARE programmes for trans-border cooperation development and activation of the Lower Danube Euroregion. According to Mrs. Cerasela, Romania received 35mln euro during 2004-2006 through PHARE programme, but because of the lack of applications, most all of the money was returned to Brussels. The grants could have been used for projects in the field of business development, tourism and infrastructure development, culture, education, mass media etc.
The General Consul expressed her hope that together with the EBA, the Consulate will be able to activate business contacts, organize business missions and attract Romanian investments to Odesa region. There are Romanian enterprises which are planning to bring their industries to Odesa region, and to establish joint ventures, invest in transport, tourism and road construction. Mrs. Nicolas Cerasela believes that this cooperation will be more efficient after the Attachй on Economic Issues joins the Consulate in Odesa.
Ivan Liptuga, the Head of EBA Odesa Branch told that specific types of cooperation between the General Consulate of Romania and the EBA Odesa Branch will be included in the Memorandum on Cooperation, to be signed soon.
The second topic of the GMM was the presentation by the FEOD Group The company introduced its services, like registration of private and public companies in the United Kingdom, opening of bank accounts and giving loans for doing business, education abroad, tourism etc. |
